What Is the Christ Self? How to Connect with Your Higher Self Through Meditation

Image
I felt inspired today to share more about what it means to live as your Christ Self. What does this actually mean? For centuries, the word Christ has been associated primarily with the man Jesus. Then, during the first wave of the New Age movement, it began to be understood in a broader context as one's Higher Self rather than referring exclusively to Jesus. Very early in my own spiritual journey, I learned that Christ refers to a state of consciousness, not to a specific person.  The non-denominational mystical metaphysical organization I studied with was called The Teachings of the Inner Christ , and it was there that I began to understand the deeper meaning of this sacred concept. The Inner Christ, often called the Higher Self, is the highest expression of who you truly are. Not only does this Christ Consciousness live within you, but it is also part of your greater I AM Presence,  the luminous spiritual aspect of your being that surrounds and interpenetrates your physica...

The Spiritual Awakening Journey: From Ego to True Self

Image
The journey of awakening is different for every person. It depends on each soul’s unique path, life lessons, choices, and experiences. Most people come into this world without remembering who they truly are on a spiritual level. We are born into what is often called the ego, or separate identity, a kind of false self created through human experience. Our True Self, what many now call the Higher Self or the I AM Presence, often remains hidden or disconnected for much of our lives. Because of this, as children, we really do not know who we are beyond what we are taught. We only know what society, culture, and the world around us tell us about ourselves. From a very young age, we begin forming our identity through our parents, family, schools, religion, relationships, and even media and pop culture. All of these influences shape the egoic self and create the story we come to believe is “who we are.” The ego is made up of many layers of conditioning and programming gathered throughou...

Breaking the Pattern: How Healing My Father Wound Set Me Free

Image
Recently, I had a heartfelt conversation with a friend about our relationships with our fathers. Both of our fathers have passed, and as we shared memories, we recognized how deeply their lives — and their struggles shaped the paths we’ve walked as women. My father never fit the traditional mold of his generation: the expectation to become a successful professional and provide comfortably for his family. Instead, he tried to live up to the dreams others had for him, first his mother, then my mother — becoming an optometrist because it was “the respectable thing.” He practiced on the East Coast until I was three, then moved with us to California to be near my grandparents. He tried to pass the optometry board again in California but never did. His heart wasn’t in it. He became an optician instead, a choice that never satisfied my mother. She stressed constantly about money, criticized him for not being more successful, and fought with him over who was carrying the weight of the family. ...

Will You Answer the Call to Be the Heroine of Your Life?

Image
Have you ever seen yourself as the heroine of your own journey? Like Wonder Woman, we all face obstacles that test our strength, resilience, and commitment to becoming whole. Perhaps you’ve never thought of yourself as a heroine, believing that title is reserved for those who do something daring or extraordinary. But the truth is, every day presents an opportunity to step into your power, to rise above the trials before you, and to claim your rightful place as the leading force in your own story. Think of the heroines in the fairytales—women who face daunting tests, slay metaphorical dragons, and summon the courage to overcome the darkness within and around them. Your own journey is no different. Maybe you've battled the inner voices of self-doubt, unworthiness, or fear. Perhaps you've wrestled with the illusions of limitation and separation, struggling to break free from the stories that have bound you. This is not by accident—your soul has designed a path rich with lessons, e...

Living From Presence

Image
Have you ever longed to just be? To just allow life to unfold and open to the infinite intelligence that you are? To know yourself as the stillness that is everywhere in and around you? For the past two months, I have been going deeper into this exploration and learning how to embody "being" A time to just lie fallow and allow myself to let go of even more of who I thought I was. To discover some of those beliefs you hold about yourself that you thought you let go of, no longer identified with and then discovered they were still running your life. This process of dying to the old person you have been and then being reborn without attaching yourself to another role, an idea or a belief about yourself takes a true commitment to your process of awakening. For me, this process began in my twenties as a life-long journey of getting to know mySelf. To be the master of my own life and to live as Presence. This desire has been my soul's purpose and learning how to manifest f...
