The New Divine Feminine: Welcoming a New Golden Age

 

Something exciting has been percolating for decades and is now taking shape: a new way of being for women, and for all people everywhere.

The Return of the Feminine

For thousands of years, feminine energy has struggled to stay alive in a male-dominated world. Throughout history it has resurged for periods of time, and when it has thrived, we have called those periods Golden Ages. Music, medicine, science, art, love, and life itself flourished. Competition, might over right, private ownership, greed, domination, and war were virtually nonexistent. Peace and prosperity reigned, along with the feminine-based values of collaboration, co-creation, and connection to the natural world and to one another.

It has been several thousand years since the world experienced a true Golden Age, one in which all life was revered and our divinity was honored and celebrated. Not since the Renaissance in Europe have we seen such a rebirth of art, science, and medicine, a time when some patriarchal values shifted and allowed the feminine to emerge once again.

A New Golden Age

Both the Mayan calendar and the Vedas foretold that 2012 would mark the beginning of another Golden Age, one lasting 10,000 years. This age would be like no other, because a new world would be born during it. That world would restore balance between the masculine and feminine principles of life and allow feminine energy to lead the way. This did not happen in 2012 because we did not interpret the Mayan Calendar correctly and were off by 12 years. But since this information was discovered we now know the Golden Age is soon upon us. 

 The Solar Feminine began streaming onto the planet with the Venus Transit, when we saw Venus pass in front of the Sun, its light blazing behind and through her. Venus, the symbol of love and the Divine Feminine, stood in front of the Sun, which has traditionally been viewed as masculine. This time, the feminine is in the forefront and the masculine supports her. The feminine no longer needs to go underground to survive in a male-dominated world. She can thrive, be fully seen, and be supported by all.

The world is now ready, more than ever to open its arms in a more loving embrace of the feminine. It has begun to see that embracing feminine values is not only a more conscious and loving way to live but a necessity if we are to survive. The New Divine Feminine is bringing about a renaissance, a rebirth of feminine-based values, to lead us into our promised Golden Age, the Age of Light.

A New Paradigm for Women

The New Divine Feminine also brings a new paradigm for women to live by. What we have defined as "feminine" has been based on masculine values, on how men have interpreted the feminine and how they would like women to be. Generations of our mothers and grandmothers were raised with these misinterpretations, and so were we.

Women need a new paradigm to learn how to live differently with one another. This new way of being encourages women to:

  • Collaborate rather than compete
  • Trust each other rather than mistrust
  • Value each other as much as they value being with a man
  • Honor and value themselves

When women embrace each other as the Divine Feminine incarnate, the world will follow.

The New Divine Feminine is the next octave of the vibration of the feminine for the 21st century. It offers us the opportunity to create new archetypes of the feminine and masculine, to weave a new story of creation as we live it, and to align more fully with our destiny as spiritual beings having a human experience. We are all beginning to live our divine purpose as this new world takes shape, built on the complementary energies of the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine, and as we learn to integrate those energies within ourselves.

Meditation on Your Inner Masculine and Feminine

One of the most powerful ways to integrate your inner masculine and feminine is through a ceremony you design for yourself.

  1. Meet your inner masculine. Take an inner journey to meet your inner male self and ask what he wants from you. What does he need to feel strong and supported? See him. What does he look like? Feel his presence.
  2. Meet your inner feminine. Do the same for your inner woman. Ask what she needs from you, or from your inner male, to feel supported. See her and feel her energy within you. Let the questions and answers arise in the moment.
  3. Invite them to merge. When you feel complete, thank them and ask whether they would be willing to merge within you. Watch your inner woman and man walk toward each other and merge, or let it unfold in whatever way feels right to you.
  4. Sit quietly. When the ceremony is over, tune into how you feel. You may find that you are more whole and peaceful, with both aspects of yourself present.

Women Lead, and Men Will Follow

The New Divine Feminine is a new way of allowing the feminine to lead us into the Age of Light. Women may take the lead, but men will follow too.

The story of Durga illustrates this. Once, when the world was threatened by demons who caused great suffering and havoc on Earth, the kings and men of high standing called upon the goddess Durga to save it. Durga is a warrior goddess, fiercer even than Kali. She answered their call and saved the world. When peace was restored, she told the rulers of Earth that if they ever needed her again, they should simply call her name, because it would be through the feminine that the world could be saved once more.

To me, this story shows that it is through fierce feminine energy, and through restoring and implementing feminine values, that we as a culture, a country, and a world can be healed.

This is our choice, of course. But I choose to say "Yes!" to this invitation, and I invite you to do the same.

For hundreds if not thousands of years men have been dictating the standards of beauty to women. No matter what time in history beautiful women have been admired, sculpted, painted, and sought after. Being beautiful was something that every woman wanted to be for being beautiful gave women power over men.
